story lines | wall hanging
unlike most weavings i make, i envisioned this piece long before it came into being. you could call it a symbolic representation of the passage of time, or relationships, or the inner workings of the mind… but at the end of the day, this piece is about story. the human habit of sharing our experiences through whatever language makes the most sense at that time. for me, the language i prefer to use is thread, loom, colors, shapes. i wove my own stories into this piece, and it holds room for many more stories to be seen through it.
cloth (with tassels): 12.25 × 17.5 inches.
hanging rod: 15.75 inches long.
100% organic cotton.
dyed with cochineal, henna, mimosa, and sumac.
